Arrive up to 10 minutes before class to get familiar and settled.

You will need a yoga mat, a cushion/ block to sit on during meditation and a blanket for relaxation.

Wear comfortable loose clothing. Most people find jeans or clothing with a button uncomfortable to practice in.

It is best not to eat immediately before class. Don’t come to class hungry either. If you do need to eat before class, a light snack is best.

Drink plenty of water after class. Many of the exercises you will practice in class will be help to release toxins. Drinking water aids the process of flushing toxins from the body.

It is recommended to practice yoga with bare feet. Socks may be worn if that is your preference.

If you are taking prescribed medication or have a health condition or injury, it is advised to consult your doctor or health care practitioner before enrolling in a class. Please let your teacher know of any injuries or health conditions.

If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, please consult your doctor or health care practitioner before coming to class. Please let the teacher know so that you can be shown modifications for certain exercises to protect you and your baby.

Yoga classes for children and teenagers can be arranged at your pre-school, school and after-school club.

Yoga allows children to:

  • Improve self-awareness
  • Learn to rest and relax deeper

A typical class consists of:

  • Warm ups
  • Yoga postures taught through a story
  • Game
  • Relaxation
  • Meditation
